It's such a miserable thing to work with. I have a ton of research texts in PDF format, and Adobe's AI won't leave me alone with those notifications asking if I want a summary. Like, no. I like reading books. Leave me alone. That we can't opt out of AI for so many applications is such a nuisance!

reminder David Axelrod and Rahm Emanuel both went on the record to Politico to say they were fine with this, either knowing the result would be mass death of children or being too dumb to know. Decide for yourself what’s worse!

payouts begin at $2 trillion market cap + other conditions

Great points. The Democrats focus grouped empty platitudes and technocratic talking points couldn't be further from what voters respond to in this modern media environment.

AI Is Supercharging the War on Libraries, Education, and Human Knowledge "Fascism and AI, whether or not they have the same goals, they sure are working to accelerate one another."

The long-running ideological war on libraries, education, and government workers is not separate from AI boosterism. It is the same ideological war on human knowledge and expertise. In some cases AI is being used to directly supercharge this effort:

Meta is earning a fortune on a deluge of fraudulent ads, documents show Meta projected 10% of its 2024 revenue would come from ads for scams and banned goods, and it internally estimates that its platforms show users 15 billion scam ads a day, company documents show.

10% of Meta's 2024 ad revenue came from outright frauds and scams; the platform shows consumers 15 billion ads for fraud and scams every single day. This doesn't even include agitprop and AI slop.

On a related tangent, I think many people mistakenly think, β€œIf COVID were still truly dangerous, then the government (meaning either party) and media would warn us.” What happened instead was they normalized repeated infections as the trade-off for going about your life as you did in 2019.

Britain sliding 'into economic crisis' over Β£85bn sickness bill, ex-John Lewis boss warns The number of people who are out of work for health reasons has grown by 800,000 since 2019.

The reason for this is multi-factorial, but the fact that Long Covid is not mentioned once is extremely telling. Especially since the article makes an explicit comparison with 2019.

This needs more attention: Zohran SPLIT the straights with Cuomo. ALL of his margin was from LGBTQ+ voters. Every Dem who ever said β€œwe should abandon the transes” needs this shoved down their fucking throat with a ramrod.

They aren't afraid of Mamdani, they are worried about what he would unleash among VOTERS. That those voters would say: "actually, we're not buying this centrist bullshit you've been shoveling for decades, we want something else." That's what's being litigated in these Dem elites are worried essays.
