New research reveals the Flagstones site, half of which is underneath Max Gate, is the earliest known large circular enclosure in Britain!

A team from the University of Exeter and Historic England used radiocarbon and archaeological dating to discover that it dates back to 3200 BC.

Some #UrbanPrehistory for #TombTuesday. The manhole in the middle of this road in Swindon marks the approx location at which a group of four Middle Bronze Age urns, two containing cremations, and 3 small 'accessory vessels', were found in February 1935 during the digging of a sewage trench. (1/4)
