We found that bone marrow myeloid cells were enriched for IFN-Ξ³ signaling, priming them for IL-10–mediated immunosuppression in metastatic lesions.

This reveals how tumors reprogram the bone marrow to create a permissive premetastatic niche.

JCI - Prostate tumor-mediated IFNG signaling primes myeloid cells in bone premetastatic niche for immunosuppressive IL10 signaling

I’m excited to share my first corresponding author publication in
@jclinical-invest.bsky.social! Leveraging an incredible scRNA-seq dataset from Kfoury et al. (Cancer Cell, 2021), we asked: what changes happen in the bone marrow before overt prostate cancer metastasis? doi.org/10.1172/JCI1...

Cell Type-Specific Effects of miR-21 Loss Attenuate Tumor Progression in MYC-Driven Prostate Cancer Aberrant microRNA expression is common in cancer, yet cell-type-specific microRNA activity in the tumor microenvironment (TME) remains poorly understood. Here, we show that germline deletion of miR-21...

We’re pleased to share our new bioRxiv study:
Among the first glimpses of miRNA activity at single-cell resolution in situ in a solid tumor.
Loss of miR-21 slows MYC-driven prostate cancer and disrupts the immunosuppressive TME.
