The establishment democrats are too afraid that Mamdani will implement ideas that do not exclusively benefit the Wall Street crowd; you know, the ones who have the Schumers of the party in their back pockets. The fact the establishment won’t endorse him means every voter should vote for Mamdani.

Michigan residents should be asking themselves if their grocery prices are lower and if their salaries relative to company CEOs has increased since trump has become president. The answer to both: a resounding no!

It is quite remarkable the Republican party has ceded one of their most important functions- the power of the purse- to the feckless president by voting for the recession package. Why have a Congress when the only thing they have done since January 20 is to grovel to trump? I am beyond disgusted.

Wait until the jobs report comes out today. The MAGA crowd believes ANYTHING trump says despite the evidence. Unfortunately, they’ll find out the hard way when they lose their jobs and safety net benefits. Who is going to bail them out then?

It’s a rarity, at least of late, when a Republican stands on their principles. Why isn’t Don Bacon of Nebraska doing the same? He announced he isn’t running for reelection. Where are Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, and Josh Hawley. Oh wait, they just talk a good game.

Interlochen Public Radio is one of the NPR stations that will be impacted. It provides vital local and national news in an area where radio stations primarily play music.

Benzie County has one hospital with limited services. If it closes because of funding cuts, the nearest hospitals are 45 minutes away in Manistee and Grand Traverse Counties. Good luck surviving a myocardial infarction.

I hope you are following the NYC mayoral race. Mamdani did what you suggested: He met the people where they are. He interviewed people who voted for trump but have not received what they hoped from trump. Mamdani’s policies speak to peoples’ needs. What an opportunity to unite the majority.

So what is your solution to appeal to the men at biker bars, the ones who voted for trump? Once some variation of the Republican bill is passed, it will be too late. They thought trump would benefit them economically and yet they will be screwed.

Meanwhile, Rubio is urging China to tell Iran not to close the Strait of Hormuz. How much will that cost trump in tariff negotiations? Trump’s executive function has deteriorated badly and his band of incompetents (Rubio, Hegseth, Vance) can’t envision the consequences of their actions.

It’s remarkable Republicans think nothing of spending billions on boondoggles like bombing the Houthis and Iran, and hosting ostensible parades for the military, but when it comes to funding food and healthcare for the most vulnerable, they talk about being fiscally conservative.

IMO, Iran will not respond immediately; they will bide their time before they strike. US troops should immediately be moved from Iraq and Syria where they ate most vulnerable.

Netanyahu got trump into this. This isn’t leadership from trump; he’s being led around on a leash.

Republicans will continue to ram religion down our throats regardless if we want it. Resist!

More prominent people must speak out against the trump administration. Yes, they may take a hit in their personal finances momentarily, but the stakes for this country are too high to ignore. Obama spoke out at the CT Forum. We need to hear from Bush, Clinton, famous athletes, etc. At least 3.5%!

What happened to state sovereignty, Republicans?

The US should not get into a war instigated by another country just because they were calculating our support. It would be one of the dumbest things trump has done. Hopefully Netanyahu has overplayed his hand. Perpetual conflict should not keep him in office to avoid prosecution.

I am not discounting this list, but ask yourself, have Republicans prioritized ANY of these items?

And the Republicans do? This is a false dichotomy. Republicans have continuously voted to take away healthcare as evidenced by their big, ugly bill.

His actions demonstrate his professed religious beliefs are performative.

Read Katherine Stewart’s excellent book Money, Lies, and God. You will learn how many years the religious right has colluded with big money donors. Our ignorance is their advantage.

Regardless of political differences, violence is never the solution. The use of inflammatory language by any politician should be nonexistent. That should be modeled from the top to the bottom. I’m looking at you Mr. President.
