The problem with minor PhD amendments is that they are seldom minor. One change leads to several more as you try to ensure that the minor change still makes sense in the whole thesis.

A new week a new book. A controversial and devisive subject though @maryfissell.bsky.social's book is less about the rights and or wrongs of the issue but about the experiences and motivations of women throughout history

There are few books that I would describe as must reads, because reading is such a subjective experience. Virginia Axline's Dibs in Search of Self though is a must read. A Classic on every sense of the word.

#Mendeley is driving me mad today. It keeps inputting references in Greek, literally in Greek (SYMBOL) script. I have no idea why as there are no Greek symbols in the reference and it's set to Arial. I want to kick the screen in at the moment.
Anyone have any remedies?

I swear predatory publishers are not even trying anymore. Just had an invitation to publish an article that starts with the headline, Season's Greetings. It's March. When was the last time anyone ever said Season's Greetings in March?

Just watched THREADS for the first time. That was the bleakest, most horrific film I've ever seen.

I always have more than one book on the go, one for pleasure and one more work related. The Dressmaker's Mirror by Susan Weiss Liebman falls in the latter category. That said, it is a really interesting read about #genetics #cardiomyopathy and the impact on a family.

I've just re-read William Golding's Lord of the Flies for the first time in 40 years. I first read it in high school; didn't we all during the 70s and 80s in the UK.
