Some people, when confronted with industrial levels of toxic waste generated by global corporations, prefer to complain about litter.

Your correspondent says 'we should listen' when it comes to Oxford's perennial transport issues.

I've been listening.

I've listened to people say that children's safety doesn't matter, because drivers can't be expected to slow down.

I've listened to people say that bus passengers don't matter, because drivers have more money.

I've listened to people say that traffic jams don't matter, because cities will always be congested.

I've listened to people say that collisions don't matter, because 'accidents will happen'.

I've listened to people say that vehicle emissions don't matter, because climate science isn't real.

And I've listened to people say that we mustn't reduce traffic, because that might inconvenience drivers.

I've listened, and I'm still waiting to hear a single effective alternative to low traffic.

I've had enough of listening. Time for action on low traffic.

This huckster knows exactly what heโ€™s doing: creating chaos and feeding his base. But broadcasters must call this BS out. Would he refuse cancer treatment because he has โ€˜no ideaโ€™ if it works? Or stand in front of a moving car because the evidence of the damaging effects of a collision is unproven?

Weโ€™ll light up the night and shine a spotlight on the need for safer streets and better cycling infrastructure, especially for women riding after dark.

I was walking down a street in New York and I thought how lovely it was, with the trees and the light. Tried to take a photo and this came out. Itโ€™s incredible how blind we become to the ugliness of cars. They really do mess things up. Yet somehow we manage to filter them out.

So much ugh. Strong ChatGPT colour-way and high levels of paranoia and conspiracy theory.
Love the idea that the town's "heritage worth defending" is centred on "parking your 4x4 on a narrow street with pavements barely wide enough for pedestrians"

What is the endgame in this toxic immigration debate: is it friends and neighbours thrown out of the country? | Jonthan Liew The notion of remigration was abstract, but the right is dragging it towards respectability. If the goal is homogeneous whiteness, they should say it, says Guardian columnist Jonathan Liew
