there's significant cultural overlap btwn generations (which are obviously kind of arbitrary) and it's also possible to learn about things that came before or after you if you have even a bare minimum amount of curiosity

i see so many people talk abt generational divides as a way of understanding politics or culture or just as a kind of horoscope personality quiz type thing and it does start to grind on my nerves after a while bc i just don't think generational differences have That Much explanatory power

i grew up very middle class but tbf i would not describe my parents as early adopters of most things

posts like this drive me crazy bc i was born in 01 and i owned a cd player into my teens/burned cds all the time. i also remember vhs tapes (albeit faintly) and when netflix sent you dvds in the mail and all the other stuff people my same age claim to have no knowledge of for some reason

first i lived in my friend's parents' basement, then in a 10-person housing co-op for 3 years, then in a 14-person housing co-op for 9 months, then my boyfriend's mom's attic. now my boyfriend has a good enough job that he can afford to mostly pay for our apartment

don't actually have a career path. decided i wanted to make comics when i was 19, after dropping out of college. and that's what i've been doing for the past 4-odd years. it does not pay well so i've done a bunch of random day jobs. most recently i sold concessions at a baseball stadium
