I'm not sure about the best but Winning Time the HBO show about the Lakers was extremely worth it, the fun over exaggeration of events was handled so well. A breeze to watch

the narrative with β€˜white genocide’ lately isn’t an accident, this is an intentional effort to continue pushing the overton window as far as they can to completely reverse all social progress. these people are genuinely sad aparteid ended

When I say you don’t have to worry about microplastics in your brain I mean that there is much stronger evidence that you should be worrying about other things that you don’t ever think about, like the draining of peatlands for agriculture, and things that you think about all the time, like fascism.

Wes Streeting: there is overdiagnosis of mental health conditions Health secretary says too many people are being β€˜written off’ and that is driving ministers’ changes to welfare

'Over diagnosis of mental health problems' says a representative of the political class responsible for putting the public under so much pressure they become ill.

Given underinvestment and overworked healthcare workers there's likely an under diagnosis.

Starmer to drive through welfare cuts that could affect UK’s most severely disabled PM faces backlash over plans to tighten eligibility, potentially leaving over 600,000 claimants Β£675 a month worse off

What do you call a labour PM who forces through welfare cuts which affect the most disabled?

If you act like a Tory, speak like a Tory, and cut benefits like a Tory - then guess what, you're a Tory!

Understand that this El Salvador gulag deportation was done partly in order to make the fascist video that the president now transmits, with his fascist message. The cameras are all set up in advance.

My quick fix for social media is duration caps. Allowing content to be longer increases the likelihood that it will be annoying or evil. Twitter with character limits? Good. Vine with 6 second videos? Good. Remove these guardrails and you get only Digital Filth

Excerpt from Timothy Snyder's "On Tyranny:"

"1. Do not obey in advance."

"Most of the power of authoritarianism is freely given. In times like these, individuals think ahead about what a more repressive government will want, and then offer themselves without being asked. A citizen who adapts in this way is teaching power what it can do."
