‘No one deserves this’: Beaverton father dies after deportation to Mexico A Beaverton family is grieving after the father, who was detained and deported by ICE, has now died.

This 53 year old man who lived in my neighborhood w/no criminal record & who had been in the US for 30 years, was detained and thrown into a cold cell for days, caught pneumonia and COVID there and deported.

He finally died.

Heard about Haven Watch on @tompowelljr.bsky.social YouTube Channel. Volunteers are outside of ICE detention centers when detainees are released in the middle of the night in frigid temperatures. They get them clothes, a phone to call family and a ride. Help support them if you can. havenwatch.org

They are a staple in my grocery cart. So many ways to use them! And still one of the cheaper vegetables in my area.

It is my ultimate comfort food.
