Hi, I'm in the Pocket! Well, technically half a block from the Pocket. I'm in the seam allowance of the Pocket.

I love the way people are contributing their talents to help in these troubled times. Cartoonists make us think, photographers show us what's happening, knitters make protest hats. I saw a physical trainer instructing people on the best way to carry someone injured away to safety.

Look at that, the Science Centre roof is just fine after the record level of snowfall.

I carved out a little spot for the birds to eat. This one wasted no time. Also spent a good while clearing the front walk and helping neighbours dig the car out to get to work. Much more shoveling to come!

My strategy is to work away at the mat bit by bit with just my fingers. Eventually it wears down until it's hanging by a thread, and then it comes away easily. They are a challenge, all right.

I think it's coming down harder than ever.

The amount of snow is getting a little scary. Because of reasons, I can't get to the furnace intake to make sure it's clear, but my neighbour is keeping an eye on it for me. Thank god for people helping each other out in emergencies. "Snow accumulation may near or exceed 60 cm," says the news.

This silly floof caught a mouse in the kitchen today. She may look lazy but she is an absolute killing machine if a mouse dares enter the house. I am so proud. #cats

On my list of favourite scents, basil is certainly in the top three.
