I've not played with ChatGPT image generation in a while but I felt the need to recreate a classic from @anotherglassbox.bsky.social on the bad place a long time ago with appropriate character modifications.

John Tory will forever be Gru in my mind from this day forward.

Now I'm not condoning folding in wing mirrors of vehicle that pass cyclists too closely, I wouldn't even suggest considering it.

But if you pass close enough to allow one to do that from their bike, you're passing too closely.

If only their cargo was able to be rolled to its final destination from some other appropriate loading zone, perhaps under it's own power.

Some sort of self-propelled movable chariot.

Where's that Home Alone reboot at.

I turned on Gemini for the first time in months, asked for a basic unit conversion, was immediately met with some next level TTS softwaregore and went back to the superior dumb google assistant.

This is not the dunk they think it is.

I'd be interested to know how they pencil projects like these; whether it's the economies of scale with mass timber are much better in their market, or if it was a pet project.

Storage is typically as cheap as possible, it's always fascinating to see something that appears otherwise.

There's a difference between telling someone what to be outraged about and suggesting that something is not a good topic.

Ultimately you can be outraged about whatever you want, I'm not here to police your feelings. If you're going to broadcast misinformation don't be surprised when corrected.

02.08.2025 17:07 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I don't think I told you what to be outraged about, I think I gave you the benefit of the doubt and assumed this was simply an understandable misunderstanding on your part, but it was clearly indiscriminate performative outrage without concern for facts.

I'm sorry that you think providing context and explanations for misinformation is mansplaining.

I guess the take away here is that anything Doug's government does is bad by default, even if it's much needed transit.

Good things take time. I'd rather they had a cost effective temporary structure than not. Expecting an architectural marvel for a temporary use like this would piss me off more.

The alternative is a bunch of noise and dust on Osgoode hall that then causes damage to the masonry when they clean it.

I think there's things to be outraged about, this ain't it

02.08.2025 16:33 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

It's a temporary shed, not the station.

02.08.2025 16:06 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Doug's a dummy but this is just a temporary enclosure to protect Osgoode hall and the grounds. This is actually a good thing.

Maybe this seems crass but unless they're someone's pets the only thing I want them eating is poison.

Reviewing my trap camera footage this afternoon, I came to the horrific realization that the wood sorrel I've been tolerating as a ground cover has been feeding the neighbourhood rats.

I've been leaving it all this time as it's easy to pull, never occured to me it was problematic.

It would be sweet if you could target YouTube ads to run after another specific one.

You could just run a pan of dead gravel expanse as it sits right now, maybe with a before shot for context.

No dialogue needed.

Who provides the crane in NYC? CM/GC? In Toronto the formwork trade typically brings their own (often owned, not rented) and will charge for other trade use while it's on site, and is typically eager to get it off to the next job ASAP.

Figures the heat breaks and is replaced with horrific air.

I've been a bit cooped up for reasons, was looking forward to getting out for a couple hours to throw some discs.

E-Bike Battery Safety Revolution: 2026 Certification Requirements The e-bike industry is undergoing a critical safety transformation as battery certification requirements become mandatory by 2026. With New York City alone experiencing 318 fires, 226 injuries and 10 ...

Beginning to think battery form factor standardization would go a long way for consumer costs and safety.

At $50k+ for certification having to hit a bunch of form factors makes it impossible to provide competitive offerings. Also, I know nothing about e-bike manufacturing so there's that.

I didn't even realize it had ended. I swear I've boarded the Ossington bus at the rear on more than one occasion in recent months, both at stations and mid route.

The people complaining about democratically elected provincial politicians being overruled had no problem with democratically elected municipal politicians being overruled, so they can go pound sand.

Mayor Chow has to take responsibility for what happens on her watch. But hearing John Tory allies on council try to pin the State of Good Repair backlog they created on her is infuriating.

Be critical, but not hypocritical. You know your voting records are public, right?

Word on the street is that @cycletoronto.bsky.social has been victorious in their Charter case against the Ford government. Yay bikes! Yay to everyone who fought for this. Now, Ford will spend out tax dollars to appeal, but this is good news.
