Fucking thing started as a blops 3/4 like pvp game before adding a coop rogue like mode (so far so normal), before getting pulled from steam last year & re-released on epic.

I remember at one point they tried making a new coop fps but for some reason they decided to chase trends and make it vr-

Other than a pd2 remake, I reckon they should try multiple A games again, just so they can discover their next life line.
Go back to basics like payday 1, make another A coop shooter & then grow it. Like how deep rock galactic

Also talking about starbreeze failure to go past pd2, it’s because they tried growing too big too quickly, and whilst they tried cutting back scope, I don’t think they did enough.
Payday 1 was a A game whilst payday 2 was a AA, then 3 came out as somewhere between AA & AAA, and also the walking dead

Though good luck convincing people to switch over to the remake, i can already see the gamer rage if this wasn't offered as a free or discounted upgrade for existing owners.
I for one would just be happy to get more payday 2, assuming they nail everything from technical issues to game feel.

Not sure what’s the point of discussing individual titles, like that affects the whole medium?
Films are art, yet we don’t deny the medium being an art form because it gave us fast & furious.
Art by its very nature is subjective.

Look I complain about modern games a lot when inherently there are tons of good games still coming out like expedition 33, silent hill f etc, hell I’m even excited for a live service with bf6, but I have very specific needs that aren’t met, and whilst I adore, fucking adore the indie boomer shooter-

I just want more linear 00s shooters, I’ve played all of them the death, even the shitty ones like rogue warrior & FUCKING BATTESHIPS

If we could get more fear likes, halo likes, early cod likes, Wolfenstein likes (return or the newer styles), the darkness likes & condemned likes in the AA space (because fuck trying to expect anything from AAA), that would be nice.

The first remake might have not set the world on fire but you got to walk before you run.
Subsequent releases would have done better as the ip re enters the public view, now that we have even more potential players.

I mean it released on more consoles, but also maybe just maybe capitalising on the release of a remaster/ remake a mere year later with a new entry, when people have been both reintroduced & introduced to the ip does wonders.

Something I don’t think I see many people talking about is that this is copublished by wb, which is huge because that potentially means a good relationship between them that could lead to remasters of fear, stranglehold, psi ops, the suffering & Area 51 one day
