Awful football to end a pitiful #CFMTL season. Purge, burn, rebuild. This club is so far below MLS baseline, they have a lot of catch up to do this off season (not holding my breath).

I would say they need closer to 8 new players.

They’re all subpar. Waterman thinks he’s better than he is. He got played a lot by default (literally no one else to play). He’s beyond overrated, and his attitude sucks, which I suspect is one of the main reasons he was transferred away. He was Cosplaying at being a leader.

I think the weakest link is Alvarez. He has regressed, he was almost fully responsible for the 2nd goal. They need more quality at CB.

And I don’t watch hockey anymore, there’s zero point, the Habs will never be competitive within the current financial structure, too big a disadvantage vs the zero-tax areas in the USA.

So you don’t think having 2 nepo 20-something sons in high ranking positions within the club isn’t incompetent? They’ve shown virtually no signs of competence, across most departments, on and off the pitch.

I’m a CFMTL fan and I think this article nails it. People don’t hate on Saputo arbitrarily, he’s earned his reputation. With every hiring and subsequent (not long thereafter) firing, the only consistency at this club is incompetence.

CF Montreal Fans, MLS Have No Reason To Trust Joey Saputo And Sons Maybe the Saputo brothers are uniquely talented footballing minds. But with CF Montreal's track record, don't count on it.

Vilsaint will be in the CPL by 2026, so no biggie. Splitting hairs over this (very) insignificant deal by both teams is a waste of pixels. Both clubs need A LOT more.

Koné is a baller, he’s made mistakes but ultimately he’ll still be playing at a high level in 5 years, I doubt we can say the same for Vilsaint, who will more likely follow a similar path as Ballou’s (minus the stint at Barca lol)

I’m on the fence here. His body language and attitude seemed iffy. But one could argue had the organization shelled out for an MLS NextPro side, players like him would actually have a proper outlet to develop in. Club formateur my ass

Duke is awful. We've seen enough, time to move on and transfer him out.

My biggest takeaway from Leagues Cup:
1. Team as a whole playing much better football
2. The newest acquisitions all look like they have potential
3. Really liked Gillier, thought he carries himself way more like a proper keeper vs Sirois
4. It’s time to move some dead weight (Sinusi, Opoku, etc.)

He’s sooo bad with his feet, which is a deal breaker in modern day football. Honestly I hope they sell him, one game in and I’m already on Team Gillier 🇨🇱

I think they've been playing great down a man...you can barely tell they're only 10. I also think this team is fragile mentally, and giving up 5 extra unnecessary goals would be silly too. Win or lose, I just want to see that GRINTA that has been peaking through :)

Most of my posts have skewed negatively in regards to #CFMTL this season (deservedly so), but gotta say the team has been playing much better football in the past 3-4 games. Tonight down a man (undeservedly so) they are showing a LOT of #grinta, the recent additions are already showing promise.

I forgot about Wednesday's game, that's where my care level has lowered to. I'm no longer sure I'm gonna buy MLS Season Pass again next year, just watch the games that make it to RDS. I haven't been to a game in 3 years now...I used to go to 5-7 every year. It's really sad, this team is depressing.

He has never looked hungry or motivated. I would go so far as to say he has even looked uninterested at times. Yet another bust. I think it’s funny that the club promotes this idea that we are a developmental program. Things might have been different for him if we a MLS NextPro side. Oh well.
