Celebrate Climate Action Week at Waterloo Public Library on November 12. This drop-in program uses games and stations to educate kids ages 6-12 and families about climate change, and "green" or eco-friendly practices that everyone can do each day.

Here's my response to Doug Ford's budget update – the Fall Economic Statement.

Imagine your child struggling in class, so you turn to your local trustee for help.

Under Bill 33, Doug Ford will replace that trustee with a $350,000 Conservative insider—someone you didn’t elect, can’t remove, and who doesn’t answer to you.

Today, the government just voted to end debate and skip public hearings on Bill 33, shutting out parents, educators, and students from having any say. Our voices matter. Our schools matter. But it's not too late to take action: email the Premier and demand he withdraw Bill 33. #onpoli #onted

Our democracy is worth fighting for. It does not end at the ballot box; it lives in open debate and public participation. We wear poppies to remember the fight for democracy, and they are also a reminder to stay vigilant and protect the privileges that came with great sacrifice. #onpoli

11.1% of ON's population lives in poverty & child poverty has more than doubled since 2020. Now the govt is asking for input on poverty reduction strategy all while they repeatedly ignore common sense ways to reduce poverty.

Today’s HungerCount report is a reminder: no one should go hungry. Yet Ontario saw 763,000 food bank visits & 1M+ meals last year. I’m grateful to the volunteers stepping up daily—and I’ll keep fighting for incomes, housing & supports so food banks are a safety net, not a lifeline.

In 2018 Ford promised he wouldn't touch rent control. He lied. Now he has the audacity to blame renters for his failure to build housing and make life affordable Ontarians. Bill 60 will accelerate the rate of homelessness, and blames renters for the Landlord Tenant Board that he broke.

We need a government that puts people over profits. Ontario tenants deserve better. Ontario deserves @maritstilesndp.bsky.social.
