Redundancy in game play is problematic when the gameplay loop isn't particularly engaging in the first place. Ghost of Tsushima had this problem for me. The combat in that game is decent, but it becomes less engaging as your character grows more powerful later in the game.

Every once in a while a new phrase enters the cultural zeitgeist that just sucks. I couldn't figure out why I hated "Crash Out" so much until I realized it's just an additional way to clickbait farm for views and attention on social media. Shit's lame.

The US has an uneducated populace that feels looked down upon by anyone with a college degree. Any job that requires a college degree is "not a real job" and any service that they don't personally partake in is useless and easy to dismiss out of hand. Hence why they can cheer this on.

Either of what you're describing is fine. I personally prefer 3min an hour. The person your referencing is either oblivious to how many ads are running or thinks that running that many ads will legitimately generate revenue for them.

That's kind of insane. One of the reasons I stopped streaming is that twitch made it nearly impossible to keep the amount of your ads on stream low. It's either accept pre-rolls that drive people away from the stream or run ads every half/hour or so.

I'm loving it. I like that it's a puzzle box show that doesn't seem to be spending its whole time outsmarting the audience. West World started out great and dropped off hard for that reason.

Think YouTube is part of the problem. You turn these people over to YouTube and you end up with their dog shit algorithm sending them down a rabbit hole of "trade deficits are bad and here's why Trump is right."

Despite living in an era of streaming giants that all have prestige television series, I feel like there's never more than one or two shows on at any given time worth going out of your way to watch. Right now that show is Severance.

I tune in in waves. I've been adamant about keeping notifications of apps off my phone, can't imagine what the news app I used to follow are like notification wise right now. Must be stress inducing to stay that plugged in.
