I am not sure about this recommendation that if you are a US citizen that you should show your passport. Where is it a law that US citizens must carry identification of any sort? Don't Terry Stop laws apply equally to ICE?

They literally called the American Bar Association an activist organization. Good grief.

🧡 THREAD: A federal whistleblower just dropped one of the most disturbing cybersecurity disclosures I’ve ever read.

He's saying DOGE came in, data went out, and Russians started attempting logins with new valid DOGE passwords

Media's coverage wasn't detailed enough so I dug into his testimony:

My God.

ICE wrongfully arrested a man while his 5-year-old autistic child sat in the backseatβ€”and shipped him off to an El Salvador prison. No due process. Now the Trump administration claims they can’t get him back.

How many more?

THIS NEEDS TO BE A BIGGER STORY.

Scatterplot titled β€œEmpirical Evidence of Ideological Targeting in Federal Layoffs: Agencies seen as liberal are significantly more likely to face DOGE layoffs.”
β€’	The x-axis represents Perceived Ideological Leaning of federal agencies, ranging from -2 (Most Liberal) to +2 (Most Conservative), based on survey responses from over 1,500 federal executives.
β€’	The y-axis shows Agency Size (Number of Staff) on a logarithmic scale from 1,000 to 1,000,000.

Each point represents a federal agency:
β€’	Red dots indicate agencies that experienced DOGE layoffs.
β€’	Gray dots indicate agencies with no layoffs.

Key Observations:
β€’	Liberal-leaning agencies (left side of the plot) are disproportionately represented among red dots, indicating higher layoff rates.
	β€’	Notable targeted agencies include:
β€’	HHS (Health & Human Services)
	β€’	EPA (Environmental Protection Agency)
β€’	NIH (National Institutes of Health)
β€’	CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau)
	β€’	Dept. of Education
β€’	USAID (U.S. Agency for International Development)
β€’	The National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE), despite its conservative leaning (+1 on the scale), is an exception among targeted agencies.
β€’	A notable outlier: the Department of Veterans Affairs (moderately conservative) also faced layoffs despite its size.

Takeaway:

The figure visually demonstrates that DOGE layoffs disproportionately targeted liberal-leaning agencies, supporting claims of ideological bias. The pattern reveals that layoffs were not driven by agency size or budget alone but were strongly associated with perceived ideology.

The DOGE firings have nothing to do with β€œefficiency” or β€œcutting waste.” They’re a direct push to weaken federal agencies perceived as liberal. This was evident from the start, and now the data confirms it: targeted agencies overwhelmingly those seen as more left-leaning. πŸ§΅β¬‡οΈ

In states that do not have "stop and identify" laws such as NJ, I hope US citizens who get challenged for identification stand by their Constitutional rights. Collectively, we should not roll over and let the US become a "papers please" country.

24.01.2025 17:13 β€” πŸ‘ 21    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 1

US citizens who are asked to provide proof of their citizenship in a sweep have the opportunity to bog the process down by refusing to comply. This may result in unlawful detainment or even a trip to jail but in the end, you will have a strong case for your civil rights having been violated.

24.01.2025 16:22 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

There is no federal law that requires US citizens to produce identification on demand, nor are they required to carry proof of citizenship.

In non stop-and-identify states, you are only required to provide identification to law enforcement if being detained for suspicion of a specific crime.

US citizens who don't live in "stop and identify" states should not give up their civil rights if caught up in an ICE sweep. If this happens, you will be pressured to produce identification and proof of citizenship.
