I feel this too. I don't know how the economics works out, but back when newspapers and magazines were paper - even ignoring that physical copies could be lent - I'd happily buy a whole issue just for one article I wanted.

I would still gladly pay for articles as long as I controlled when.

He looks amazing! The Execrator model is really characterful and the result here with a bit of customisation and a gorgeous paint job looks incredible. Nice job!

Those colours are wonderful - that green has so much life in it, it's almost glowing, and it contrasts really nicely with the corrupted flesh and the rich purple fabric.

As the self-declared defender of humanity, the Imperium says Chaos is evil and must be destroyed without mercy. Which may be true, but they also say it about aliens (hostile or otherwise), free-thinkers, political radicals, and democrats - it's not at all subtle!

How do these people fall for it?

There's entire books about the uncaring cruelty of the Imperium - it's short-sightedness, its rampant corruption, its hypocrisy, its inhumanity!

There's entire books about likeable, decent people getting the humanity brutalized out of them until they finally and tragically turn to evil.

That looks sick. I think it really captures what Blanche was doing with the contrast in saturation between the bright green and all the other muddy, muted tones. Really cool.

Terrain and vehicles work too.

Painted my harlequins in black quartered with contrasting bright chequers (badly - it was really hard!) but for the Solitaire I felt a plain black with some pink accents would be a little more thematic and Slaaneshi. Really like how he turned out.

Do the Puffin Guard exist in the Mechwarrior universe as well? Cool.

They are averaging 2 novels a year not counting their presence all over Dawn Of Fire (more than anyone but Marines and Guard) and headlined in the 9th Ed cinematic trailer, the Pariah Nexus animation, an episode of Hammer & Bolter, and the new animation just teased.

I think they'll be fine. 2/2

Not to mention that GW already have expanded on SoB hugely!

After their relaunch in 8th Ed with brand new plastic models, they had further release waves so when I checked a year ago they had 32 data sheets in their Index which was more than T-Sons, GSC, AdMech, Votann and even Custodes! 1/2

Oh yeah - that works really well. Just creates a little contrast in the green sea and makes it all come together.

I love some of the other little details too, like the dragon sash on the commander, or the hànzi on the Leman Russ. Whole army looks fabulous!

Three Warhammer miniatures on a light blue background. Two minis are Ork Kommandoz - green skinned alien brutes festooned with weapons, and ammo and vaguely military-looking webbing and backpacks in stealthy, tactical colours like olive green, and bright orange. The third mini is their Distraction Grot - a smaller Orkoid carrying a grappling gun, and who appears to be wearing a wetsuit with an orange diving mask and snorkel for purposes unknown.

They look magnificent. I love putting bright colours on Orks in general, and it's awesome to see more Kommandoz going super-stealthy in Tactikul Orange.

Yeah, that was a real stroke of luck where story (the bloody hand of Khaine) and aesthetic came together. Really ties it all together.

Eventually I'm going to need to work out how to give a grav tank a red left hand (no hurry though, I'm not a fast painter).

I'd been painting Harlequins in bright colours, plus jet black and metallics. I felt like taking all of those options away would be an interesting challenge, and so the shades of grey theme started to materialise. It's been great fun, and I love how they look as a collective.

Not to mention that Greenland is already defended by the most powerful military alliance in the history of the world, which includes *checks notes* the USA.

So... what they are effectively saying is "if we can't own you, we won't protect you".

Yeah, that sounds very plausible.

I've never understood how a comic strip as funny and subversive as Dilbert was made by such a shallow, small-minded right wing blowhard as Adams. Genuinely the weirdest thing.

Not read it in years. I kind of assume it went downhill in the last two decades, but I'm not motivated to check.
