What a difference a day makes!
Over night went from snow fields to having a moat. Meant we could begin planting up the earth bank where the dying Ash were with hawthorn, crab apple, spindle, elder, rowan to make a more manageable boundary that benefits the creatures we share this space with.

it's a great practice I think. Yes, it's time consuming but there are so many benefits. It's fun and even if the results don't look like a pro (mine never do!) it will still work.
