I don’t know your life but if I were you I’d start with some honest reevaluation of how complex the tasks you’re doing are.

At best I’d ballpark it at “pretty smart college senior who’s best skill is bullshitting” in terms of the complexity of tasks it can manage reliably.

We shouldn’t turn over all of education, art, engineering, programming, and decision-making to “pretty smart college kid who can’t not fuck up.”

Sure I’m curious! It’s very interesting! But moreso because when it “works” (which is granting it a LOT), it speaks more to how certain forms of knowledge in the world are so routinized that a predictive text machine can generate a pretty good facsimile.

But it cannot think. It is not miraculous.

If I was at a wedding and somebody ran up to me gleefully announcing “You gotta check out this Jesus guy! He turned all the water in the wedding into wine! It’s a miracle! Sure, 10% of people immediately shit their pants violently, but it’s a miracle!” I’d probably stick with the non-miracle wine.
