Here’s advice from a high-level staffer for a Senator. I’m retyping from Allison McGuffie’s post, which she cut and pasted from a friend.

There are two things that we should be doing all the time right now, and they’ve by far the most important things.

Talk simply about what they are doing and how it impacts you and your community.

"Leopards ate my face" and jokes about "we didn't need that (essential service) anyway, ha" are totally lost on these people. I also think it was part of the reason we lost the election: our opposition speaks directly and simply, we dont.

Please speak directly when posting on social media. Half of Americans read at a sixth grade reading level or less, which means limited vocabulary and that they may not get things like sarcasm.

Over 1/3 of New Yorkers are on Medicaid. Last night’s federal funding freeze has shut down Medicaid portals in all 50 states.
Call your reps today and tell them to protect our healthcare by passing the New York Health Act.
