Customer guidance for SharePoint vulnerability CVE-2025-53770 | MSRC Blog | Microsoft Security Response Center Customer guidance for SharePoint vulnerability CVE-2025-53770

Trying not to let work and personal bleed too much into eachother, but want to make sure this gets out and has good reach.

If you've got on-prem SharePoint, please go do the things, because this is *nasty*: msrc.microsoft.com/blog/2025/07...

Reducing to the correct length had the added advantage of allowing me to hide the clasp almost entirely.

Digital ID holograms aren't security features but a 'cheap coding trick' Cybersecurity specialists warn a "very cheap coding trick" is being spruiked as a high-tech anti-fraud measure on digital driver's licences.

Digital driver's licence anti-fraud technology described as 'cheap coding trick' - some outlets, pubs and clubs are refusing to accept digital ID because they’ve seen it faked too many times already www.abc.net.au/news/2025-06...

Because I went to school in the middle of nowhere, we also got eye tests and basic heart checks on immunisation day, it was great.

This might sound paranoid, and it’s still hypothetical. It’s a truism someone is always watching on the internet, but the worst thing that comes of it for many people is some unwanted targeted ads. Right now in the US, though, we’re watching the impending collision of two alarming trends. In one, tech executives are encouraging people to reveal ever more intimate details to AI tools, soliciting things users wouldn’t put on social media and may not even tell their closest friends. In the other, the government is obsessed with obtaining a nearly unprecedented level of surveillance and control over residents’ minds: their gender identities, their possible neurodivergence, their opinions on racism and genocide.

One of the fun things about being 41 is when you start listing your ailments for a new medical professional and they're shocked you've just been living with the pain for 33 years.

This is incredible. This computer science professor makes his students play a game that simulates the risks and repercussions of getting Long COVID, and then he's like, hey anybody want a mask? And: "approximately 95 to 100% of students who’ve played the game now wear masks in his classroom."

Yesterday would have been mum's 62nd birthday, last month was 2 years since she lost the fight against FTD. She gave up any desire for a life of her own to raise 4 kids from a young age, banking on having her older years to travel and enjoy herself. She didn't get to do any of that.

In case it’s unclear: products like this strip everyone of consent.

It means that one person in a public space wearing these glasses has made a decision for everyone else.

Just went and voted early, and they had blocked all the accessible entrances with this crap, and the volume of people shoving wasted paper in our faces meant we couldn't walk down the really narrow path that remained.
