19.07.2025 19:49 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Another questionable decision, more bullpen nightmares, and a lack of offense doomed the Mets yet again on Friday.
Plus, a look ahead to David Wrightβs jersey retirement.

Baseball is back!
Let the second half beginβ¦
The Red Sox enter the second half riding a 10-game winning streak.
After years of mediocrity and prioritizing the bottom line over winning, management and front office owes it to the players, to the fans and to the history of the storied franchise to go all in at the Trade Deadline.
The one MAJOR change Iβd make to the All-Star Game - we need to see more of the true stars.
Plus, a bunch of thoughts on the festivities, including praise for FOX, ABS, Joe Torre, Clayton Kershaw, and Kyle Schwarber the icon:
We're exactly two weeks out from the MLB Trade Deadline.
The Mets have a lot of needs to try and address. I ranked them in order of importance...

The second half of the 2025 MLB season gets underway on Friday.
So now is the perfect time to look back and take stock.
Here's my 3οΈβ£ β¬οΈ, 3οΈβ£ β¬οΈ from the first half of the year for the Mets...

Baseball has the best All-Star Game. It is as close to an actual competitive game as you can get, and weβve seen that tonight.
However, the one major change I would make would be to make all starters play at least 7 innings. You want your stars out there as long as possible
FOX has done a real nice job with the micβd ups tonight. Has really added to the festivities, and made the game all that more compelling. Loved listening to Kershaw and Crow-Armstrong in particular
16.07.2025 01:10 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Love, love, LOVE the fact that players are wearing their own uniforms during the All-Star Game again.
Looks so much better.
MLB got that decision right, and then some.

Also, as much as I pine for the likes of Ohtani and Judge to participate in the Home Run Derby every single year, I thought last nightβs event was a lot of fun.
It was cool to see so many fresh faces take part, and I thought it was compelling viewing for both the hardcore / casual baseball fan
Cal Raleigh is exactly the kind of star MLB needs right now.
Heβs so marketable. He hits dingers for fun, he has the cool nickname, and heβs just an easy-to-root for dude.
The league needs to take full advantage of this
In todayβs newsletter for @justmets.bsky.social , I explain why Juan Soto missing the All-Star Game probably isnβt a bad thing for the Mets.
Plus, if he becomes available, Twins RHP Joe Ryan would be an excellent fit in New York.
Juan Soto, Seiya Suzuki, Trea Turner. A ton of deserving players wonβt be at the All-Star Game in Atlanta.
Hereβs a roundup of the most egregious snubs:

I was wrong - now the New York Mets have officially hit rock bottom.
And this week could go a long way towards telling us who the 2025 Mets really are:
Congratulations, OKC! On a different level all year long.
But, what a hell of a run by the Pacers, who are more than just a feel-good story this year. They proved in these playoffs that they are legit
Chet Holmgren is an absolute monster

The fact that Rafael Devers has been traded now, after the dust had seemingly settled on everything, is what makes this truly shocking.
Holy, holy, holy crap.
A truly shocking trade
The Last Of Us: Through The Valley proves just how elite HBO is when it comes to making edge-of-your-seat TV.
My gosh, that was one of the most gripping, chilling and damn exhilarating episodes of TV Iβve watched in a long time. They executed THAT scene beautifully. And the battle was epic
