A trip to Lyn Brenig. I spent a bit of time looking for Emperor moths and adders but no luck, lovely to hear the skylarks on my walk though. A visit to the Osprey lookout point was more successful, saw them both, in the air and on the nest.
They also have Willow tit there which I saw and a Merlin.

This week brought this little fellow looking ever so vulnerable on the ground. S/he wasn't there the following day so fingers crossed s/he is thriving somewhere in the trees.

A trip to London for the weekend. My daughter found this in the toilets at the pub........missing my trap which is broken so it was good to get this Early Grey, and away from home.

March moth and Hebrew Character in Bucks. Brimstone butterflies all over the garden currently and some courting ravens overhead as well as the Red Kites.
I think I've died and gone to heaven!!

Twin-spot quaker used to be common here in south VC59 but now quite unusual. March moth, Hebrew Character, small and common quaker made up the rest. #mothsmatter #blakejules

Adscita statices and Zygaena filipendulae stephensi rendered in gouache and coloured pencil
A few years ago I used to see the Six-spot burnet regularly and the Forester I’ve only seen once, but a real beauty I’ve never forgotten. So this summer I’ll be Zygaenid hunting on the local common where they like to hang out.

A favourite hawk moth for #mothmonday because I’ve got a bad back and unable to finish any paintings at the moment, including this one. So I’m a bit miserable 😞 trying to cheer myself up and desperate for some spring warmth. #teammoth #mothsmatter
