I’ve long suspected that when drivers say “I saw nobody” they actually mean “I saw A nobody”.

It’s frustrating trying to keep track of all the individuals needlessly killed on the roads. I had to make my own but it’s just too harrowing to read all the cases before logging them, especially the children.

I cannot fathom how anybody could possibly think this is justice in this situation. The lives of cyclists are of so little value in the justice system. 😡

Literally the Highway Code itself. It’s been 129 years since the first motor vehicle related death yet we’re still stuck with a bunch of vague rules which may or may not point to legislation.

The airline industry doesn’t do it like this, nor the raise industry.

Not sure this qualifies but there’s no national public list of those that have died on the roads. Not by the government, the media, or as far as I can tell any of the numerous road safety charities.

I made one but it’s hard going in my own.

For context, my 5yo son was in a trailer buggy behind me. The driver would have been even closer to him as they passed.

Quite, they also said "Whilst I understand that you believe a public order offence may have been committed by the other drivers actions, the footage provided by yourself shows that you appear to be the one shouting at the driver following the overtake […]"

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary has this to say on the 1.5m rule:

“[…], the distance between a bicycle and a car is not one of the points to prove in law. The 1.5m is a highway code “rule” for good driving, which is not the same as an enforceable law.”

Alas, many vehicles now automatically disengage the handbrake when the accelerator is applied.

This the the crux in my view, these “whoopsies” should be engineered out but simply nothing happens, no remedial changes are made to vehicles or infrastructure. Nothing.

Article in either New Scientist or Scientific American decades ago said renewables would inevitably win because you finance them with a normal business loan whereas nuclear required central bank loans and multi-decade government support.

Nothing has proved that article even a little bit wrong.
