Rui Yin (Ph.D. '24, biological sciences) uses #ArtificialIntelligence to design antibodies that can cure previously incurable diseases.

During her Ph.D. at #UMD, Rui developed and applied computer algorithms to better understand the bodyโ€™s immune response to pathogens and disease โžก๏ธ go.umd.edu/yin

#AlphaFold 2 (via TCRmodel2) and AlphaFold3 were both tested for modeling of these new complex structures, and both were able to model them accurately. However, modeling of additionally structurally uncharacterized complexes led to low confidence scores, indicating room for improvement.

Structural characterization and AlphaFold modeling of human T cell receptor recognition of NRAS cancer neoantigens Structures of T cell receptor engagement of cancer neoantigens yield insights into specificity and accurate modeling by AlphaFold.

Happy to share this collaborative study with the Mariuzza Lab on structural characterization of #TCR engagement of NRAS cancer neoantigens, now out in Science Advances. This reveals how a human TCR is able to productively engage two different NRAS mutants.
