Not going to lie, I was more than a little sad about that. I've always been able to give her easy comfort and connection and it made me sad to think that our breastfeeding journey had ended.

The past few days she's been fussy and upset and hurting and all I could do was give her cuddles and meds

I know this may be a silly thing to celebrate, but Mara was diagnosed with hfmd on Tuesday. We're not strangers to it--she's had it once before, but this time there were more spots on her tongue.

This meant that nursing was painful and something she started avoiding at all costs.

The new Kesha song is doing things to my brain, specifically a strong desire to return to the neon cactus even though I'm in my mid 30s, have a baby, and get anxious from loud noises and drinking too much.

There are new babies who are about 2 months old in Mara's classroom and I swear if the economy was better and our house was bigger, I would let my ovaries win this one. Not today, ovaries, not today.

I also have a fairly big stash and quite honestly am probably going to try to find some sort of quilting store somewhere in the area. I know there are some, but they might be a little bit of a drive. Seconding the sheets as fabric, especially cute vintage patterns.

There will technically be one but it's the one we don't talk about because they're super problematic. I think the Michaels in Anderson will still be open, and they don't have the biggest selection but it's not terrible if they still have one.

About three weeks ago we took Mara to the ER because she had got ahold of something sharp and cut the inside of her mouth kind of bad. Today I got a diagnosis of MRSA, so that's fun.

Apparently coughing so hard you throw up multiple times a day is normal with a cold. It doesn't feel normal, and I've had a lot of colds
