Absolutely yes. The nuclear doves (which I should have just called nuclear opponents) often work with the moderates to try to get the numbers down and to reduce nuclear readiness. But they‘re a small group and not a strong political voice.

As opposed to the conservative think tanks who work out the policies and strategy for Republican administrations. As abhorrent as those policies may be, they at least have a logical plan of action when they start out.

But there is blame to be apportioned. The so-called nonpartisan or bipartisan think tanks in DC do a shit job of developing moderate or progressive natsec policies for a Dem administration. As a result, we get well-meaning pundits who create really bad policy.
