Some people in Taiwan think or romanticizes that if Taiwan becomes part of China, things will be better.

But we need to pause and think, what value-add does Taiwan provide for China, if Taiwan is part of China?

I think Taiwan needs to get serious about civil resistance. Not because anyone expects an invading PLA to be beaten back by civilians with pitchforks but as one facet of deterrence. It has to be understood that an occupation is going to be incredibly difficult with a population organized against it
