I’m 69 years old and on Tuesday we are driving a documented Haitian immigrant to her asylum hearing in Detroit because she doesn’t have a car. I’m apprehensive that it won’t end well, but want her to know that some of us do have compassion and Trump/ Miller/ Noem don’t represent us.

The Art of the Really Stupid Deal
What the heck were the Trumpists thinking?
Krugman: "the interaction between this Japan deal and Trump’s other tariffs probably tilts the playing field between U.S. and Japanese producers of cars, and perhaps other products, in Japan’s favor."
(To be clear: That's not how this is supposed to work.)

I agree and am anxious that the institutions that would have blocked him are now fully in his control. It makes the midterms essential for removing the GOP control of Congress and state houses.

It is grim. When the government is being weaponized against its own citizens, we’ve become Russia. Trump is the focal point, but there’s lots of collaborators trying to grab a little power and dollars for themselves.

Ironic and tragic that this is in Baldwin which was a stop on the Underground Railroad and near Idlewild ( a Black owned resort during Segregation era.)

I’m seeing much the same enthusiasm amongst conservative Catholics who have long embraced Trump. It’s like an extension of the Crusades.

I’m not expecting anyone in the Federal government to resist, but where are the state attorneys general and law enforcement at. Are they powerless?

Yes, it’s not that the “distraction” isn’t an important issue; it’s the sheer number of them coming at us. It’s hard to prioritize and respond on the fly.

The article should have pointed out that the DUR discontinued service almost 90 years ago. These really are forever pollutants.

It’s a warning to other universities that this administration can come after them next except they probably don’t have the deep pockets of Harvard.

This was inevitable that Trump and gang would ignore these judicial orders. He’s daring the courts(and us) to stop him.

Much of Trump’s rural America are news deserts. With funding cutbacks to NPR, these areas will only become less informed.

The SAG ads have been running several times a night on our local TV news in mid-Michigan. Pure fiction that I’m sure the MAGA fans are eating up.
