With Paolo Riva & Luca Pancani, I designed and ran daily diary experiments on reactions to #ghosting vs. #rejection over time.
๐ Both were painful.
โณ Ghostingโs effects were slower to emerge and lasted longer - ambiguous and lacking closure!
โจ #OpenAccess: doi.org/10.1016/j.ch...
When does waiting for a reply turn into #ghosting? ๐ป๐ฌ
@sarahlutz.bsky.social and I introduce response delay tolerance: the amount of time someone is willing to wait for a response in #online messaging before feeling ignored.

Our paper on how sauna bathing affects psychological states and personality traits has just been published! @kittykat931.bsky.social
Study 1 showed that regular sauna users have more vivid bodily sensation imagery and give higher aesthetic ratings to haiku.
Four years, six studies, and many many revisions later, our paper on prosocial aggression -- harmful acts that are motivated by a broader goal to help the target of the aggression -- is finally in press in Motivation Science! Check out the finalized preprint here: osf.io/preprints/ps...

This study examined how people process haiku poetry by presenting each line sequentially (5-7-5 syllables), tracking cognitive and emotional changes throughout. We measured emotional responses using a joystick and analyzed changes in pupil size.
