Alright, I’m taking the plunge! I’m starting a trade chain for charity, and it begins with Whisperwood Elemental—the first Mythic I pulled from a pack. I’m planning to trade up to a Masterpiece Ugin, The Spirit Dragon, and I plan to donate the card to fundraise for ExtraLife. My journey starts here!

Pretty simple, but our society would be better if more people watched How to Train Your Dragon.

I have never had someone else voice my thoughts so perfectly when it comes to people's strange takes on art, work, & being in the ttrpg space. Interesting question! I would place drow cities under large metropolitan centers like Chicago and NYC, someplace where their surface activities would likely go widely unnoticed. However, distance under the surface is important, and I would place it pretty far below to avoid discovery.

Not sure if you’ve come to a decision yet, but there probably isn’t much harm in running a fantasy system of your preference and advertising it as D&D. Tales of the Valiant by Kobold Press is really close to 5e, but OSR lite like Cairn or Shadowdark could be fun and easy to jump into.

Yeah…when I play Magic, I enjoy the cohesive art and story. D&D, Lord of the Rings, and even FF fit into that a bit. But I have a hard time with TMNT and Marvel, even though I love both franchises. I want to feel like a wizard, not like I’m playing make-believe, though I know that sounds ridiculous.

My wife played a cleric of Sune during our campaign of Waterdeep: Dragon Heist. The heartwarders are an interesting bit of Forgotten Realms lore, though she tended to avoid the local temple because it was full of Mean Girls™️

I’ll have to check this band out! I’m really big on using albums or music in general to inspire my TTRPG games.

This is a really cool aspect of the hobby! I actually have a friend getting his Masters in therapy who is building a TTRPG specifically for therapy sessions. It’s very cool.

Had to look up the Storwind Fallacy because I’m behind the times. At my table, optimization isn’t really the issue on its surface. It’s when it’s coupled with superiority or hogging the spotlight that it becomes a problem. As a GM, we always have dials we can use to ramp up difficulty to match.

It seems that the terms ‘sex trafficking’ or ‘human trafficking’ are too sanitized. As someone who worked with multiple nonprofits aimed at ending human trafficking, it is the equivalent of modern slavery. Anyone who participates in sex trafficking is participating in HUMAN SLAVERY! #releasethefiles

Yep, it’s one of the laws of TTRPGs. Any time the party encounters a dragon, they will inevitably try to fight it or seduce it. Which usually leads to the same result either way 🙃
