There are many things wrong in the world. This place is my 'escape room'. TTRPGs, mostly D&D - started in 1984 when AD&D (1e) was the current version. And boardgames. Software developer. πally, believer in democracy. πͺπΊπ³π±. He/Him

17.02.2026 07:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I have been in the same situation, until a few years ago I decided to search just a little more active. Within weeks I had a weekly group.
Now, I have even 2 more groups (~monthly) where one of these groups is all family.
My advice: just sometimes mention to people that you would like to play.
Does this make any difference for your character?
"have always been" may not be the best reason to keep it like that.
Elf "has always been" a class.
The question is: are species evil, or cultures, or just individuals?
If all drow are evil, how come your character is not? And, if *you* can be non-evil as a Drow, then evilness is obviously not a trait of your species, but of something else.
Does that even make a difference for your character?
Can you elaborate? I don't have this issue at all. What are the things that don't seem right?

03.02.2026 14:21 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The front of the Daggerheart ttrpg core set, still in its shrink wrapping.
Finally decided to look into #Daggerheart . First impression of the set is solid. (thought the errata document, downloaded from the website, is almost 3 pages)
Any suggestions what I, as a long time d&d player, should pay extra attention to?

Where edit? Here's the right stat block (previous post has an old version)

First discovered on the moon Terida, the Buscador have spread across all planetoids and asteroids in their planetary system Γ’β¬β and possibly countless others, as they sometimes cling to the outside of visiting ships. Their crab-like exoskeleton is light purple and helps them to hide among rocks and in space dust. Jet nozzles in their bodies allow flight in low-gravity environments and are used as weapons shooting sharp, tiny objects. They prey on anything living, even if it wears personal armor.
Thought up a monster for my next #dnd campaign: the Buscador.
Some say this creature was bio-engineered to crawl the universe in search for something. They could possibly even communicate over astronomical distance.
I'm looking for an artist (paid) to visualize this beast.
You choose to ignore the current rules. D&D has changed. Species do no longer give stat bonuses. You are referencing rules that have been fixed more than 5 years ago.

30.01.2026 15:07 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0It worked for me. Just took me 17 years, but now I have a party of 6 players plus me β all family
Luckily I also had other groups that I've been playing with, one group even weekly for the last 4 or so years.
I noticed the same. I feel it's part of the nature of this type of app, where your posts only remain visible as long as not too many others have posted after you. So, people keep posting stuff.
Recently, I tried posting some questions here. I mostly get likes but no actual replies. So, community ?
You know there's a Travel Pace table in the PHB ?

28.01.2026 12:16 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I prefer heroic death of my character.
I'm currently playing my 3rd character in our weekly campaign. My 1st was killed by another pc that took too many risks, was magically compelled to attack me, and rolled a critical hit. My 2nd character died an heroic death, obliterating a miniboss.
Our monthly #boardgame night (2nd Saturday of September-June) is happening on Valentine's Day. Any recommendations for games matching the theme? I already have Love Letter
28.01.2026 08:00 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The description of paladins and gnomes (and many other entities) has been very different between versions of D&D. In the current version, paladins are bound by their oath. That can be religious, but often it is not.
Gnomes are clever and cunning, but only some gnomes are tinkerers.
Ah yes, the medieval kingdom of Flevoland
27.01.2026 05:30 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0In the current version of D&D there is nothing that prevents this β nor something that allows it. So, totally up to you. However, the "This is your life" tables in Xanathar's will not generate such combos
In one of my campaigns, two characters are siblings. One is a gnome, the other a dragonborn
How did you like it? My son gave it to me for my birthday last year but we haven't played it yet. I played it once before with friends and it did not make a great impression

Next session: tomorrow. One of the cults will try to overturn the country's government with the party caught in the middle
