The streetcars are going so slow in part because of antiquated technology Toronto still uses. Modern switch control would fix many intersection slow downs. Dual blade switches would bring the network in line with the light rail lines and even some streetcar yards.

Tiny sidewalk
No bike lane

Anyway, look at the surveys, letters, in-person consultation attendees and deputations. Suburban ward housing advocates showed up; the mayor didn't show up for us.

Perks isn't voting yes with strong mayor powers.
A bigger issue for me is multiple councillors (Carroll, Fletcher) used questions and speeches to state that residents associations were saying no, dismissing those saying yes as just from downtown. And the mayor said nothing to correct that.

Why do we consider it good that creatives spend the majority of their time doing mindless work? We should want them doing more actually creative work, not more ads!

Even with clothes the average person buys way more and way more interesting clothing then before clothing got automated.

Software has been made a million times esieee then 20 years ago, yet there are more software engineers then ever!

But at the end of the day just like other industries, when the cost of derivative work goes down, it doesn't mean we get less of it. In fact it means we spend less money on derivative work, and the truly creative people are freed to create. We see the same thing in software and website building.
