I addition to the Downgrade Challenge, I also wanted to see if I was wasting money on VG+/NM records if VG was more than adequate. So I bought a box full, no one record priced above a fiver. On inspection, a good clean and all should sound perfectly fine, only with a few forgivable clicks/ticks.

This one insinuated that, because of a reply I made to someone they likely don't even follow, I have mental health problems.

To be fair, it was nice of them to notice - most people just assume my MH issues are all in the past - but something in their tone suggested it wasn't complimentary 😂

Don't know why I don't listen to more Mogwai. I really enjoy their music every time I play them, but still I don't play their music very frequently.

Maybe, with patience, something will click. I'd been neglecting Camel for years until something on "Moonmadness" clicked.

An upsurge in membership and a recent YouGov poll that has the Greens only *8 points* behind Labour. I wonder if any of this will be mentioned in Corbyn's livestream this evening? Nothing against him, personally or politically, but it's time for fresh blood and fresh energy.

It's been a long day. I've made 5 or 6 more entries into my Downgrade Challenge but they were on in the background while I worked, wasn't paying them much attention, and now too tired to list them all.

Not even 8pm yet, and calling it a night. And to think, as kids, we yearned for later bedtimes 😆

Same here. It's heavier than most Genesis albums, but that plays to Ray's strengths. I saw them on tour that year too at the NEC in Brum. Took a few photos on a disposable camera, most of them blurry. During COVID, posted a question on FB to see if anyone could identify who was in the picture.

The last time I tried dual-booting Windows & Linux (which was several years ago), I could at least do so by installing Win first and let Linux overwrite the bootloader with an os-probed GRUB. Has Windows gotten *that bad* that even performing an update will overwrite your bootloader?

So what's the connection with Christmas? Surely the UK release date can't be the ONLY thing?

Neither the English nor German versions have lyrics even remotely festive, and they're both quite similar. I'm sure I read somewhere that, in Germany, it was a hit during the Summer. ⬇️

I have the UK 12" single of "Keeping the Dream Alive" by Freiheit, which has all this Xmas imagery on the cover. Even heard it in Matalan between festive Slade and Shaky hits ⬇️

I'm pretty sure I watched this one as an 8yr old. I distinctly remember the Jan Hammer performance being the first time I'd heard of him. I just loved anything that sounded different, and "Crockett's Theme" certainly did.

I replaced the pre-installed 512Gb Gen3 SSD in my laptop with a 4TB Gen4 NVME, and it worked fine. The generations are backwards compatible - you won't get Gen5 speeds out of it, unless supported by your m/board, but it would - at worst - work as well as your current drive as far as I know.

They are kind of right though - just with a *very* differing definition of what "our tolerant society" means. To the Express, it likely means turning a blind eye to tax avoidance, deference to the Royals (even the dodgy ones), and not calling out any conflicts of interest in government contracts 😆
