Hard sell on TMP I think. I agree on Search For Spock. I liked TMP more than most seem to, but I think it mostly works because of how gorgeous and iconographic it is visually. And the last like 30 minutes are sci-fi gold.

Idk how much it helps(or what the politics are locally for you) but given that this is a states rights issues and states rights is the whole republican platform, and that weed is a HUGE part of local economies where legal: I kinda doubt this actually happens. ❤️

So I apparently accidentally speed-ran a college class. I did the entire class in a week(it’s online school) and it was apparently supposed to take 6 weeks. 😂

They just need to go back to films that are largely stand alone aside from a carried over casting. Like, I don’t get why are finding this hard. There are 20 films showing them the way.

I thought I saw it technically made it’s money back? But also like, weird time of year for a boxing movie, there’s drama around Sydney, nobody knows who Christy is, it’s art house, no one has any money. Why would it be shocking at all that it didn’t make much? lol. People are weird.

I can see that. I don’t like him as a person. And he’s very annoying. I do think he’s a brilliant filmmaker.

I will say, despite his politics pissing me off and him being generally gross, a whole lot of very outspoken ppl from marginalized groups love working with him on those films. Which 1/2

I think Tarantino gets it. His stuff is generally deeper and has something to say or explore. I enjoy JJ/ the Duffers fine enough, but they have the same issues: What you said. And They are great at starting stories, opening up mystery boxes, making you get invested; but can’t stick the landing

The only defense I gave for Steve Carr is I thought his made for tv adaptation of the Freaky Friday musical was good…but the directing wasn’t so it’s not much of a defense. 😂

Hey in fairness Mark Steven Johnson also wrote Christopher Robin and Grumpy Old Men! And he directed the underrated When in Rome and Killing Season!

The problem is that Newsom will say something politically brilliant and compassionate like this and then immediately follow it up by throwing transgender people under the bus.
