Amsterdam just pipped it for me. Museums, architecture, food, and I’ve been there for gigs too. 2 or 3 days for sightseeing and museums, but add more if you’re planning to party while you’re there.

Definitely quality over quantity.

A year of no booze today!
No hangovers, very few trips to the pub, lost touch with a few people, but been pretty productive.
It’s probably not for ever, but it’s for today at least.

Some generic festival tips. Don’t take anything of sentimental value. Sleep with your money/ phone/ valuables at the bottom of your sleeping bag (not under your head). Keep clean clothes in a dry place to travel home in (ideally in your car if driving). Have a blast!

There's only two groups of people this appeals to:
1) commercial landlords
2) bitter old pricks who are not affected by this at all but want to make lives miserable for younger generations because they had it tough for 15 minutes once

This evenings dark trudge across the sodden fields with the spaniel was 2 miles of uneventful beautiful peace.
It felt more like 4 miles on the legs but it’s nice to feel alive after looking at a screen all day. ♥️
