I don’t mind replies if someone has something nice to say but if you are going to reply in a combative tone instant block. I know that shit flies on Twitter/X but not with me. If you want to debate someone go sign up for a local college course. People’s random thoughts are not invitations to argue.

It could very well be we have a recession plus higher inflation next year. You can get both. Companies can trim jobs, cut inventory, and still raise prices because the higher end consumers are still wealthy and have excess equity. To get true deflation you’d need a stock market crash.

People who think a recession automatically means lower prices should go read about 1970’s stagflation. There were multiple recessions in that decade but it didn’t cause deflation. I wouldn’t assume this weird economy reacts normally to job losses like 2008. It could be much much worse.
