Flex posts--they're designed NOT to hurt vehicles that run into them. The designed KNOW people will run into them & drive over them, putting cyclists at risk. But hey, at least the vehicles won't get damaged.

A demonstration smithy at the Iowa State Fair.

The smithy in the Pioneer Village of our State Fair (which doesn't open until next Thursday) has large windows. I'd love to catch the morning light there, but I always seem to arrive in the middle of the day, when the light is the least interesting.

Probably for the best that it's not. I mean, there's almost certainly a marmoset shortage, which would lead to breeding programs, which under capitalism would inevitably cause massive marmoset abuse, and they deserve better.

But I'd stand in line to hold a marmoset for a few minutes.

I'm not entirely convinced holding a marmoset would fix me, but the evidence is overwhelmingly favorable.

Years ago when I lived in NYC, a friend and I were looking for a restaurant on Hester. He tapped me on the shoulder and pointed at somebody, saying, "That's Corky Lee." I hadn't even heard of him at that point. I'll watch this tonight.
