3/4 through audiobook three of The Wandering Inn and through all of my grumbling frustrations with the characters and story i am definitely swimming in this world. In a genre full of “low consequence” plot lines this series stands out with a bit more grit, for better or worse. #wanderinginn

This is a good one, but specifically what i like about it is its exploration of at least some of the real world consequences and public interactions that would occur if this kind of technology were real. I want to see more of that in Virtual Reality type LitRPG novels.

Picked up this Adventure Gamebook while over in the UK… anyone heard of these? Published 1986. Just a couple of d6 and a spare sheet of paper to get going. Creature of Havoc, Gamebook 24. #rpg #advebturegamebooks

It annoys me to no end that the 2024 Monster Manual is organized by monster name and not by Type. Where are the oozes??? Well they’re in G, O (for Ochre, not Ooze), and B. Unhinged, out of pocket, and completely unacceptable. #dnd

What books explore what a world would look like had it developed with magic? Magical fantasy is often just “vague medieval setting + fireball” but what does a society look like when everyone has a bag of holding? health potions? axes that cut trees in one chop? Is gold still currency? Food scarce?

I may try to get into it again… but my god it was a rough start for me that just completely turned me off.
