The BAAL Language and New Media SIG and BAAL Health Communication SIG are pleased to announce the CfP for our 2024 seminar on Digital Health Communication, taking place on 24th May 2024 at Queen Mary, University of London.

The seminar addresses and discusses our shared interests across health communication and digital media. Our aim is to foster dialogue between researchers in both fields, share relevant findings across both areas, and encourage future collaborations.

We welcome papers that originate in either health communications or digital media research, but especially encourage papers that research at the intersection of both areas. Topics of interest may include:
Methodological approaches to researching digital health communication
Linguistic analysis of forums with health-related topics such as illnesses or vaccinations
Representations of health and illness in social media discourses
Use and design of health and/or wellness applications on mobile phones
