My Jose Canseco card collection sat sad and alone in a bin for 25 years. But my love is rekindled! 1,164 and counting and I’m gonna try to post one a day.

✍️PRINT-O-GRAPHS #19✍️

This is where my Print-o-graphs series ends, and it’s a unique one. Not only because it’s a battery card, but because Jose added the accent over the e in Jose, which I don’t think I’ve ever seen before on his signature.

Following up yesterday’s Silver Signature with the even snazzier Gold Signature. And that scribbled auto I’m gonna say today looks like “Jo Larimar.” First to 40/40: the great Jo Larimar!

This is arguably Jose’s most iconic Rangers card, so much so that there’s a version with Deadpool in Jose’s place. This is the Silver Signature variation, with an auto that looks more like “Jo Canseco.”

This is a great one in this series because it’s kinda meta: Jose signing a baseball for a kid on a card that features his signature. I see a tiny hand reaching out. That kid must be really cute to make Jose chuckle like that. That kid is also 35 now.

One of my all-time favorite designs included a shiny, refractory signature stamped into it! That probably makes it my all-time fav in this Print-O-Graphs series.

There’s so much going on on this card, from the high hat to the mullet to the fact that it’s a sunflower seeds card. But it’s also an “Autograph Series” card and that’s a very classic looking Canseco signature. But it is odd that it’s written vertically.

Jose gave Pepsi the most half-hearted, scribbled signature I’ve ever seen from him, and I commend him for it. Coke is it! He knows it, too. Look at that impish grin on the back of the card.

The signature I’m POSTing today is so similar to the one I POSTed yesterday, it could’ve been the same stamp or file, or whatever they used in 1991. The one I’ll POST tomorrow is verrrry different.

Let’s ease on down to MooTown for today’s printed auto. Dairy I say, this is another pretty realistic-looking signature? I definitely don’t have a beef with it. Not sure I can milk any more puns out of this one. 🐮

After yesterday’s overly precise signature, today Jimmy Dean brings us one much more representative of a Jose auto. He’s very happy about it on the front, too, as Big Mac makes a subtle cameo.

Even Collect-A-Books had a facsimile signature inside — if you can call it that. The penmanship is so neat it looks almost like a script font. Although the J and C do include hallmarks of Jose’s typical signature.

We move on to a Wonderbread issue, with a less than WONDERful rendition of Jose’s signature. Truly white bread. 🍞 As far as the top renditions of Jose’s signature go, this one’s toast.

This is the only example I have of a printed auto being “knocked out” (white text on black background). Kind of a cool look.

😆 Most likely. I’m sure he was just on a lower step, but I’m surprised Jose was okay with that.

I didn’t even know about this card until a couple years ago, but it’s a real beauty. It’s oversized, the photo is amazing, the colors pop and it’s got that classic printed signature, very much what you’d expect to see in a Jose John Hancock.

This might be the only instance I have with two “print-o-graphs” on one card, with Jose alongside his Bash Brother. The “ose” part of his first name is little more than a tiny, illegible scribble here.

Yesterday, a follower on another app pointed out there was an ‘88 “printed auto” from Starting Lineup that I don’t have. But this ‘89 has virtually the same back, with the auto, aside from the extra year of stats. It’s an especially sloppy rendition of his auto.

Today we begin a little series on cards with printed (i.e. not actually signed) autographs. I think this is the first appearance of one on Canseco cards, chronologically and alphabetically. We’ll see a lot variations in his signature, too.

💿MULTIMEDIA “CARDS”💿

Only one of these actually looks like a card, but they all feature an audio or visual experience and all are on @tradingcarddb, so I guess that makes them cards. I’ve also never listened to mine, but links are in the 🧵

TOPPS INAUGURAL 🏔️🐠🐍😈

I’ve always loved Topps’ Inaugural parallels. Jose’s playing days coincided with four new teams joining MLB, so we have ‘93 variations for the Rockies and Marlins, and ‘98 gave us Diamondbacks and Devil Rays gold foil stamps.

Studio brought some class and refinement to the baseball card world in the ‘90s. There’s so much to love here. The throwback insert from ‘92, the giant hat logo and refracting signature in ‘93, and I know the credit cards were controversial, but I love them.

🏆World Series🏆

I probably should’ve waited to post this in 5 weeks or so, but these are the 7 cards I have that commemorate Jose’s appearances in the Fall Classic. Crazy that the bottom 4 are basically the same pose. He hit .152 with 3 HR, 10 RBI in 4 World Series, winning 2.
