Literally me trying to participate in my fantasy auction draft 2 weeks after our daughter was born.

Excerpt from CWB article: Around midnight, 911 callers reported gunfire in the area and later called in a disturbance involving a man with a gun and a group of women fighting at 79th and Marshfield, according to CPD dispatch records. A police surveillance camera operator pulled up a feed from the area and reported seeing about eight women fighting, but no visible firearm. About 30 minutes later, the operator noted that the fighting had stopped and that the “main girl” involved in the scuffle had lost her shirt. Roughly 10 minutes after that, though, a Chicago Fire Department crew found the same woman—the “main girl”—lying on the 7800 block of South Marshfield with gunshot wounds to her face and leg. Officers at the scene said witnesses refused to cooperate with the investigation, and no one reported gunfire to 911. Police recovered a single shell casing and a can of pepper spray near the woman. She was taken to Christ Hospital, where police said she was listed in fair condition.

Really curious what sort of methodology they got going over there. Apparently a gunfire incident with corresponding 911 calls can still be recorded as unreported if those involved with the incident weren't the ones to call 911?

Always annoyed at that lack of a curb cut just over the bridge. I take that route often with the kids in our cargo bike and it's way too heavy and dangerous to try and lift the bike over that curb, basically forces us to use the sidewalk to cross the bridge.

Anytime people blame cringe posts for harsher treatment of the oppressed, this exchange from 1843 (!) comes to mind.

My level of enjoyment is very book dependent. Like I loathe most super hero or celebrity tie-ins but those are the books my kids like to pick most often at the library so we have a bunch on hand.

But I'll take a long difficult to read Dr. Seuss over this generic Steph Curry book any day.
