Earlier this year, @arvalis.bsky.social commissioned me to build a muscle model of a Komodo Dragon.

Lizard anatomy is well studied, but many resources are hidden in literature often unknown/inaccessible to artists. The mission was to make an idealised, artist-friendly reference for lizard muscles.

He's been through a lot, and a loooot of fun for me lol the wings are so dramatic that I had them figured before anything else

A broken mechanical dragon standing in profile, blue and pink tentacles and arms sprouting from it's neck, chest and tail. It's back right leg is cut off at the knee and the back left leg is stripped to it's barest components. The top of the image has notes for the left side of the body while the bottom half has the dragon facing right with notes for that side.

More detailed ref for Crusader, with notes cause I wanted to commission art of him lol. Currently working on a new version.

He's got two versions of hard light projected wings, soaring and albatross. Soaring wings tend to disrupt atmosphere with it's jagged edges and albatross is lower energy. Almost always is leaving a dust trail, the sphere at the base is the only part that can't vanish.
