Do you remember the horrific abduction in Worcester, MA where protestors clashed with ICE as they ripped a woman away from her family? The horror continues.

The woman’s 13 and 17 year old daughters were placed in foster care. They are now both missing. 1/

Forget the racist elements, is there anything more un-American than thinking you are owed something for what your ancestors did.

Hatch act is weak tea. There is basically no criminal penalty for it and it’s rarely enforced.

School board salaries in America's largest school districts Ballotpedia: The Encyclopedia of American Politics

ballotpedia.org/School_board... take a look at school board salaries. A lot of these people are managing multi billion dollar budgets and make less than a mcdonalds assistant manager.

I hated the early 90s, but the late 90s were great, crime dropping, people moving back to cities, the dot com boom in full swing, etc 1999 was one of my favorite years. Didn’t last long tho b

Just put your money into an index fund for a few years, you’ll survive. If you want to get rich, public service isn’t the job for you.

Base load power is important but probably nuclear would be the way to do it.

He left for Korea to attend his cousin's wedding, returning via SFO where ICE detained him.

In 10 days, he was permitted one phone call to his mother. The CBP officer told her that Will has no constitutional rights.

I will REPEAT that he is a legal permanent resident in good standing.

I have been trying to figure out how to resolve this β€” there really needs to be some kind of way to bubble ads up from sites to the AI summary at least and do a revenue share. There is a large amount of money to he made if someone figures this out.

This past week, the 79-year-old president announced he’s ended six wars (some that have been going on for centuries), asserted that windmills drive whales insane, called for BeyoncΓ© to be prosecuted, claimed Obama committed treason and complained a convicted pedophile β€œstole” teenage girls from him.

No, it just means you should try and do something to help those people stay in the neighborhood if possible and participate in the growth.

When I use AI, i can test its answers immediately and catch its _frequent_ mistakes. You can’t write unit tests for a judicial opinion.

Because a lot of those smart people are computer programmers who are using ai effectively at work and expect that people in other domains will be able to do the same thing.

I think up to a certain age this is a reasonable thing for a parent to use. Like if you have a four year old they should always be where you think they are. This could be useful for like the β€œlosing your kid in a shopping mall” situation. Not when they’re old enough to be independent.

If voters don’t care about what you are doing maybe you should do what they care about.

30.07.2025 16:21 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I vote for democrats because i have a preference for democratic policies on issues that i care about. There are lots of people who don’t vote because that isn’t true for them. No amount of β€œshut up and eat your broccoli” will change that.

30.07.2025 14:46 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Two things are true: Global warming needs to be addressed, and carbon dioxide isn’t a public health risk. But calling it that was the loophole the EPA needed to address it. Unfortunately, if you do it by executive action it can be undone by executive action. We need a functioning congress.

30.07.2025 12:50 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Because the policies that they support that are popular, they don’t deliver on, and the ones they do deliver on are unpopular. And they’re going to win, if they do in 2 years, because that is also true for Trump right now.

30.07.2025 03:15 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

The voters owe democratic politicians nothing. Not their votes nor their money nor their time. If voters didn’t show up to vote on election day, that is the fault of the party and politicians alone. Maybe democrats can stop shitting on their own base and do something that gets people to care.

Part of it is that but it’s not like the info isn’t easily available. _People don’t want to know_. They start with a feeling of like or dislike and then look for information that supports their feelings. Almost nobody seeks out information that challenges their beliefs.

I am not saying that is a good or bad argument about gentrifying neighborhoods, but that is why people are mad about it, primarily. There is a secondary thing of outsiders wrecking the local culture, but i don’t think that is what really droves opposition as much as rising rents.

29.07.2025 18:34 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Most of the people who already live in gentrifying neighborhoods are renters, so they eventually are forced to move and don’t get the benefit of nice shops for very long.
