I didn't think "Scorched Earth Jimmy Kimmel" was in the realm of possibility.

Yet here we are. I'm now a fan of someone I thought about less than once a year about two months ago.

The scenes out of Chicago should outrage us all. These federal agents are out of control, committing senseless acts of violence & putting everyone at risk.

American citizens are being detained & brutalized.

This kind of immigration "enforcement" shouldn't be acceptable to anyone.

I am turning into a broken record on this but congress has impeachment power that they refuse to use.

Worst case scenario is this gets resolved when there are boots on the ground and individual officers have to make the call β€” and possibly opposing calls.

It’s a good piece, but i think it misses where β€œai art” is mostly being used β€” people making stuff for themselves, that they look at once and then throw away.

Oregon National Guard Adjutant General, General Gronewold says if they are federalized, that he will advise the Title 10 commander to utilize National Guard Troops to PROTECT protesters at ICE facilities. This is the right answer.

The difference here is that congress has willingly abdicated their role in governing.

One thing about the current moment is that a lot of people who would probably call you hysterical if you said you didn't believe there would be a 2028 election are acting the way they might if they didn't believe there was going to be a 2028 election

Democrats did everything they could to elevate trump in the 2016 primary because they thought he would be easy to beat. Don’t underestimate how dumb elected democrats can be.

A lot of these people are very loud critics because they know what they built and they are on the outside looking in now.

There is a subtlety here, because there were a lot of fascistic tendencies in the GOP that rose up in the war on terror and a lot of the biggest republican critics of trump were fully onboard with it at the time. The machinery they are using(DHS) was after all a project of the neocons.

Trump is going to keep chipping away at the levers of power that liberals have, there will never be a better time to have a standoff than now.

The democrats in congress are incapable of leading us out of this mess because every instinct they have is to keep things from reaching a crisis, when what we actually have to do is bring things to a crisis while we still have the power to resolve it in our favor.

The End Of Non-Sequitur Politics Let's have more politics about the thing itself.

There is no sense in which the Enabling Act of 1933 would have become an acceptable piece of legislation if it had included a carve-out requiring Hitler to stabilize out-of-pocket health care costs. Same goes for the Enabling Act of 2025. www.offmessage.net/p/the-end-of...

They actually had a majority vote to convict him in his second impeachment, which is why i suggested making it a majority vote.

The failure of our system has a single root, which is that it is too hard for congress to remove the president. Congress should have impeached him in his first term and should impeach him today. A bare minimum constitutional reform is making removal a majority vote in the senate.
