Difficulties of political messaging. Why does astroturfing exist? To message with more authenticity than if you said it.
Atlas is too complex for the attention span of an average voter, and if delivered by Daniel would be viewed cynically or as conspiracy theory. Her own astroturf group perhaps?

Demonstrates why the astroturfing campaign 'Don't let the teals trick you' (covering our telegraph poles in 2025) didn't work. Apart from insulting voters intelligence, people weren't tricked into anything.

This data shows when people move to Ind from Lib, they are doing it in it's entirety - otherwise they're still with Libs. It tells me they weren't 'dazzled by a sensible Lib-lite Ind', but have deliberately rejected Lib.
* also incl. strategic voters from Lab/Grn & demo change in seats since 2019

Maybe they would start clashes on the street, or maybe complain to compliant media afterwards of feeling 'culturally unsafe'. Remember when a flight attendant wearing a Palestinian flag pin was 'unsafe'?
It's a precarious point in time - deeming what symbols, words are and aren't acceptable.

If people from Herzog's event met protesters on the street going home, would it 'automatically' = violence?
Many protesters are Jewish, so why would protesters start anything? No, instigators would likely be Herzog supporters - offended seeing other Aussies with signs, flags they disagree with.

I've often thought that teachers make the best MPs. They know how to listen, to work together, to guide, and to lead - all with the goal of a better future for all of us.
(And know how to best deal with the current children in our parliaments...)

4/ With the authority of the NSW Supreme Court, NSW Police instruct the NSW Public on the precise meaning of the term 'Social Cohesion'; a lesson which will no doubt be repeated as often as necessary throughout the week while the NSW Government shelters an alleged war criminal.

SMH homepage is a GIF of business shirt guy with his hands up getting punched by cops - but headline is 'justified'.
We've all seen Minnesota, and can see through that BS thank-you very much.

Whose community safety is he talking about?
Not the safety of people who want to protest this govt decision, who could have the ability to assemble with traffic/legal safeguards.
Or is it the 'safety' for people not to be offended when their favourite foreign politicians are criticised?

I think your Zuel of Rock segment on ABC Radio needs a protest song edition.... Love your work!

They are using the preference flows from Hunter electorate for PHON, and extrapolating them to all seats around the country - incorrect assumptions lead to incorrect results (but good click-bait).

Risk-reward sounds accurate.
Unsure if any of the risk is insurable (even less so with regular damaging weather events).
Animal welfare has little impact when cost to provide care is considered cost prohibitive.

Lucky. Example how light aircraft are the most statistically dangerous way to travel!
So cattle receive mass vet care when mustered (drenching, vaccination). If out on lot, big enough cut - bleeds out. Breaks leg / can't walk - dies of dehydration. Trouble birthing - both die with zero care. πŸ˜”

I've often wondered how the cattle industry provides vet care to their stock in such large remote lots.
What happens if an animal stumbles and wounds itself? Or breaks a leg? How does anyone know? Or are they just left to fend for themselves, die in pain?

Whilst difficult to get factual reports out of Iran, voices we do hear are weird.
Calling for return of son of the last Shah (overthrown due to his brutal dictatorship & corruption), seems to exchanging one tyrant for another (esp calling for Israel, US intervention). No calls for democracy? Sus.

Mmmm... I wonder how it would fly if an Imam demanded he and his followers exist only within Sharia law and Aust law not apply. Cool and normal? Permitted to be the faith leader in NSW prisons? (as per Ulman's wiki)

My experience is Willoughby - if exhausted Lab/Grn voters had preferenced in same pattern as Lab/Grn voters who did preference, IND would have won over Lib - not once, but twice.
Whilst Lab has ⬆️ recently & won many 2PPs, INDs as a credible option & Lib ⬇️ are all critical in changes in these seats.

05.01.2026 22:15 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Ditto for Sydney seats with independents challenging NSW state. So much work required to explain to Lab/Grn voters if they don't want a Liberal, they need to preference at least as far as the independent.
Then all work is lost by someone saying "1 and done" (and people's laziness takes over).

If we look at the number of incidents reported over time, no-one needs a RC to understand the background / cause of anti-Semitic events. Note a reduction in 2025.

It would be practically and legally impossible to hold a royal commission that goes anywhere near the actions or motivations of the accused killer, before his criminal proceedings are concluded, which could take years. That limitation would render the royal commission itself pointlessly premature.

In 2026, I’m working for a world where we:

βœ… Elect community-first leaders
βœ… Trust science & expertise
βœ… Support public interest journalism
βœ… Lead with empathy & kindness
βœ… Put integrity at the heart of govt decision making

No one is coming to save us but us πŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ #auspol

How would we react to any other country compiling a 'hit list' of Australians?
Does this mean these Aussies are being covertly surveilled by a foreign entity?
The Israeli govt show who they see as a threat - it's recognition of a Palestinian state, not neo-Nazis who threaten Jewish people.

Questions are in the census so govt service delivery can be tailored.
Asking religion means potential demand for support services are known, asking ancestry means the same for cultural groups. Data does not mean grants are automatically available - just that demand is understood.

Just imagining Brandis saying "People have the right to be a bigot" now. Josh F had some interesting words in 2016 too.
They can reap later, that which they sow now.

The Liberals are backed into a corner electorally, so are desperately clawing at anything to criticise Labor.
Experts know if govt demonizes one community, gives privilege to another, forces all of us to take sides - it *actively makes the risk of terrorism worse*.

Her job is to highlight ways to stop anti-Semitism - of which she's a spectacular failure (intel agencies too in this case). She's spent 18 months pointing in one direction (to academia and peaceful protestors) when IS supporters and neo-Nazis haven't rated a mention.

When I marched, it looked like a cross-section of all Sydney. We walked near a family with a sign "We are Jewish. Free Palestine", and so many people profusely thanked them as they passed by.
If the shooters had marched, they would have learnt much about love, tolerance and respect for all others.

We will focus on love & not hate. As a leader in the community, Segal's responsibility is greater than ordinary people, who may speak ill through a lens of trauma. Her role should be comfort, not blame, division & political opportunism - if she can't manage that, she should not be envoy.

Poor Timmy seems upset his Liberal far-right factional opponents have made up some BS and fed it to Phil at AFR.
A laughable concept for teals to join Lib moderates - who'd want those talentless, perpetual loser Libs dragging you down?
