I have been feeling down lately. But, today, I got home from an OT shift and waiting for me was a signed Sister Argenta print from @totalspiffage.bsky.social that I had ordered and forgot about!

One more disability post before I'm done: mobility aids represent freedom to many of us. I've heard so many lament that we are "stuck" using them. But a cane can mean joy, less fatigue. Crutches? Stability. Wheelchair? Freedom, access. And many more. These things HELP us cope!

The joy we feel in accommodation is directly in opposition to the world that is not built for us. The little things matter. And if you have the grief of a change in ability, it's okay too. Ugly feelings are still feelings that need to be felt in some way.

I saw a disabled creator talk about the uncomfortable truth of being disabled. This happens a lot, particularly with people who become disabled later in life. There's a certain grief that accompanies every change, every diagnosis, every outlook. It can be kind of ugly!
