That is THE current system. Have you heard of an HMO? Insurance denials? Only people w/ $ get the best care. I have lived both sides. Most of my old drs don’t take insurance-only sometimes I’d get reimbursement. Try to get good Physical Therapy w/out cash! Your lack of awareness is disappointing.

There is no danger of that. A family friend just had major shoulder surgery at 69 & the surgeon refused to rx opioids. Her plan isn’t manageable w/ ibuprofen- it’s proven that being in pain post op does slows healing & cause harm. Most people who take opioids as prescribed do not get addicted
