Her kitchen.

Living room. All 4 bedrooms and the 3 car garage are like this.

This lady is not poor. She has a masters in literature and taught kindergarten in WG for many years. She was run out of Stl Co for pet hoarding 20 yrs ago. She is not reclusive either. She's a well known "eccentric" around here. Most have no idea how she lives though. No relatives. Extremely sad.

She is not allowed to have dogs or cats, but she still has at least a dozen feral cats and at least as many loose rabbits running about. No one can see her place unless they come up her long drive. She hasn't allowed anyone but us on her property for 15 yrs. I worry about her. We call & she stops by

While our 83 yr old neighbor spent 4 days in the hospital, authorities of all types were all over her property. They did not have her permission to enter her house, but it is obvious from the outside that she lives in squalor and has no running water. She's still there.

An ungroomed poodle. Not quite 2 years old. Sweet as can be but unruly at the time.

An ungroomed terrier. Todd used to belong to a different old lady neighbor. He was taken in by our other neighbor about 4 years before, when she moved to her daughter's house and could not bring him. He's 9 yrs old. I'm his 3rd old lady.

Once groomed, we realized she's a grey poodle. It takes years for them to turn completely. Meanwhile, she looks older than she is with this grey muzzle. And a white star on her chest! She's quite large for a female. 65 lbs. Thankfully, she house trained very quickly.

Todd does not like to be brushed. I manage to bathe and brush him and he looks like this again 20 minutes later. I have to admit I have no idea how to deal with his coat. He is a very funny little character. I haven't had a small dog since I was a kid.

Last week marked one year since the "knock on the door" from the neighbor asking for help. We had lost the second of our elderly dogs, Buster, just a week before and were trying to get used to zero dogs in our care. Before the day was over, we had 2 dogs, 1 cat and 10 rabbits.

Worked 20 years at a different local non profit hospital. They were all about the money too. Even more so once they kicked the nuns out of management, sometime around 2000, in favor of men in 3 piece suits and rolexes.

We rented this 1865 house in kirkwood from 1975 to 1985. The rent was $125 a month. Owned by a very reclusive old lady, it had no hot water in the kitchen, among other inconveniences. Totally worth it. A legendary party house in its day. Now a plumbing co. Dad's 1972 buick in the drive.

I have a long lived family on both sides with lots of great aunt's & uncles. 2. I had no food allergies. Just pollen and penicillin. My Dr finally suggested cutting food dye. It was like a miracle. My years long nightmare was beginning to end. I still flare up from some additive I cannot identify, but for some reason, after 60+ years, my body decided to rebel against dye.

1. I know a lot of people think the food dye issue is made up by the likes of RFK, but I can testify it's real. Five years ago we (me & drs) could not figure out what was causing my horrible skin rash. Mostly on my face, but also patches elsewhere. Especially the palm of my hand
