The Liberal government has invoked Section 107 of the Canada Labour Code to end a strike by Air Canada flight attendants fighting to end unpaid work and poverty wages.

“The Liberals are violating our Charter rights to take job action and give Air Canada exactly what they want — hours and hours of unpaid labour from underpaid flight attendants, while the company pulls in sky-high profits and extraordinary executive compensation”

Workers deserve better than a government that denies their right to fight for fair treatment.

The federal government has no business interfering in the labour dispute between Air Canada and workers.

This terrible decision by the Liberals undermines negotiations and hurts labour rights.

Once again the Liberal govt violates workers’ right to free collective bargaining. Once again, it interferes on behalf of management. Once again, it harms workers trying to get better working conditions - in this case mostly women forced to work for free.
