I'm not sure if I'm just pushing my glasses closer to my eyes than before, or if it's some other property of my current pair, but I have been having the WORST time with this too, cleaning them multiple times a day. I assume it's my eyelashes, I don't have any other explanation...

β€˜Waffle’ the noun and β€˜waffle’ the verb are not etymologically related.

The noun is related to the Old English β€˜wefan,’ which means β€œto weave.”

The verb is related to the English β€˜woff,’ which means β€œto yelp.”

FWIW: we never waffle on eating waffles.

a scene from the animated hobbit movie. Gandalf suddenly appears from behind a tree after seeing some smoke rings blowing his way. He's standing there, smoke rings in his face, while wearing a baggy grey robe, holding a wooden staff, with a cloudy background against a lush landscape. The image is captioned "Unbothered. Moisturized. Happy. A little baked. Questing in my lane. Conjuring. Flourishing."

There’s something so hollow and quietly tragic about a book no one wrote, or a painting no one made. Trying to feel something in it is like searching for water in a desert where no one has ever livedβ€”just echoes without voices.

Nothing but a lonely emptiness.

For a long time I thought I don't (care to) make emotional art. But I realized that's not true: When I learn about nature via science I feel awe, hope, curiosity, inspiration, etc. It may not be overt or literal, but I hope some of that comes through in my work.

Anyway πŸ‘‡πŸ’―

The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Nod to Jack Kirby Is an Empty Gesture Until Creators Get Paid - Reactor It's too little, too late when it comes to recognizing comics creators...

There's a nice nod to Jack Kirby in the new Fantastic Four movie--but it's an empty gesture, as long as Marvel and other studios continue to deny so many creators the recognition and royalties they deserve

A clearing in the forest, a small house with a red slate roof rests at the foot of a sheer cliffside, smoke billowing out of its chimney. A rough picket fence circles around the grassy clearing, while the entire area is overgrown with greenery (including all on the cliffside). The early evening sun shines through the distant canopy. There are now 8 ducks in the scene.

Okay. NOW it’s finished.

(See if you can find all the extra ducks I added to the picture too!)

There's a reason people don't want you to experience negative emotions through fiction and the reason is fascism, because then you'll realize how unfair your own condition is and you'll start questionning the World and ipso facto the system.
It's always about control, never about protecting

Every webcomic has two stories: the story the artist is telling and the meta story of watching an artist make creative choices over the course of many, many years. You get to watch art evolve and change in real time.
